A Dance Floor Without Borders

Updated: Aug 15, 2025

Hi and welcome.

My name is Mia, and this is the beginning of a project I have been trying to set up for a while because it is something that truly matters to me. As a dancer, I have always believed that dance is one of the most powerful forms of human expression. It is not just a form of art, it is a form of communication. Dance allows people to tell a story without words.

For some reason, somewhere along the way we started to decide who "belong" or "doesn't belong" on a stage. Who "looks like a dancer" and who doesn't. Who gets access to training, and who is left out.

This blog is called Movement Without Borders and it is about changing that. Through interviews of many challenged dancers, stories, and upcoming opportunities, I hope to explore how people with different appearances, abilities, backgrounds, and reasources still find their way in the dance world as well as how we can make space for more of them. Dance is not "one size fits all". It never was. This is my way of helping open the floor to anyone and everyone.

Thank you for being here.

More to come soon.
