Why Every Studio Should Teach Inclusivity

Too often, inclusivity is treated as something optional. Something that you might do eeyr now and then. However, it is something that should be central to how dance is taught.


Studios that oftentimes normalize modifications, teach respect for those with differences, and showcase diverse role models better prepare students for a healthier relationship with the art.


Inclusivity doesn't lower standards, but instead elevates the art form by expanding who can participate; enriching the story that dance tells. It teaches kids to be more accepting and welcoming, leading to an overall better generation.
